For a while now I have been walking my dog in the stunning Caudwell woods. Caudwell woods is a small woodland located in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Every time I visit I look around for potential locations I could shoot as I wanted to plan a styled bridal portrait session in there. Well my luck was in!!! I had a local model (Naomi Fox) who was interested in shooting with me and agreed to the bridal portraits.
After speaking to local suppliers, Flowers by Lisa and Makeup by Ema brown, they had agreed to supply the makeup and flowers on the day.
On the morning of the shoot we made our way up to the middle of the woods but the sun was just to bright so we made our way down the banking to the rear and the light was much better. We did lots of different poses, used smoke bombs and everything was going well.
I had a surprise for Naomi!!! On my previous visits to the woods I had spotted a old abandoned farm that was covered in graffiti and I wanted to shoot there. I had packed a bag full of coloured paints as I intended to turn the bridal portrait session into a trash the dress shoot. Naomi was game so we made our way over. We found a old barn with lots of graffiti on the walls but was a little dark so I used my continuous LED light as a key light. I covered Naomi in lots of coloured paints which was fun!!! It complimented the graffiti and the images looked amazing.
A week or so later I sent the images to Bride magazine UK and a few days later I had a reply from the editor saying she wanted to publish the shoot. This was mazing news as it would be mine and Naomi’s first time having work published.
Overall it was a fun shoot and Naomi was a great person to work with. The publish put the icing on the cake!
